Wetlands
(Ramsar sites)
At the State Institute of for Applied Ecology site there is an ongoing
project to disseminte information on Ramsar sites (wetlands of international
importance) in Russia. Currently there is information, including maps,
for five areas: Volga delta (Astrakhan Region); Kama-Bakaldino mires (Nizhni
Novgorod Region); Svir Delta (Leningrad Region); Southern coast of the
Gulf of Finland, Baltic Sea (Leningrad Region); Kurgalsky Peninsula (Leningrad
