NGO concerned with wetland conservation. This is an extensive site, with information on interntional agreements, regional programmes, monitoring projects. Very useful is the Ramsar database. This holds information on all Ramsar sites (wetlands of international importance) in a site directory, with text desciptions. Modest site focussing mainly on the Israeli-Palestinian water conflict, with some minor excursions to Southern Africa. Wetlands (Ramsar sites)
At the State Institute of for Applied Ecology site there is an ongoing project to disseminte information on Ramsar sites (wetlands of international importance) in Russia. Currently there is information, including maps, for five areas: Volga delta (Astrakhan Region); Kama-Bakaldino mires (Nizhni Novgorod Region); Svir Delta (Leningrad Region); Southern coast of the Gulf of Finland, Baltic Sea (Leningrad Region); Kurgalsky Peninsula (Leningrad Region). 20000411
